From the BLS : The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) rose 0.1 percent in May on a seasonally adjusted basis, after increasing 0.4 percent in April, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Over the last 12 months, the all items index increased 4.0 percent before seasonal adjustment. The index for shelter was the largest contributor to the monthly all items increase , followed by an increase in the index for used cars and trucks.

Bunge Ltd. BG said Tuesday it has agreed to combine with privately held Viterra Ltd. in a cash-and-stock deal valued at about $8.2 billion. Under the terms of the deal, Bunge will pay Viterra shareholders about 65.6 million shares valued at $6.2 billion and about $2 billion in cash. Bunge will assume $9.8 billion of Viterra debt and will repurchase $2 billion of its own stock.
