CPI Shelter was up 3.9% year-over-year in May , down from 4.0% in April, and down from the cycle peak of 8.2% in March 2023. From the MBA: Mortgage Applications Increase in Latest MBA Weekly Survey Mortgage applications increased 2.7 percent from one week earlier, according to data from the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey for the week ending June 27, 2025. Last week’s results included an adjustment for the Juneteenth holiday. The Market Composite Index, a measure of mortgage loan application volume, increased 2.7 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis from one week earlier.
