Fed's Flow of Funds: Household Net Worth Decreased $1.6 Trillion in Q1

The Federal Reserve released the Q4 2024 Flow of Funds report today: Financial Accounts of the United States. The net worth of households and nonprofits fell to $169.3 trillion during the first quarter of 2025. The value of directly and indirectly held corporate equities decreased $2.3 trillion and the value of real estate decreased $0.2 trillion. Household debt increased 1.9 percent at an annual rate in the first quarter of 2025.
