Altos reports that active single-family inventory was up 1.5% week-over-week. Click on graph for larger image. This inventory graph is courtesy of Altos Research. As of June 9th, inventory was at 443 thousand (7-day average), compared to 436 thousand the prior week. Year-to-date, inventory is down 9.7%. And inventory is up 9.3% from the seasonal bottom eight weeks ago.
CNBC's Carl Quintanilla posted this graph on Twitter this morning: And he quoted Credit Suisse: CREDIT SUISSE: “Our work indicates that YoY inflation is likely to fall to 4.2% in May, 3.2% in June. this would represent one of the greatest drops experienced in a 2-month period over the past 70 years.” This is very likely for both CPI and the PCE price index since energy and food prices soared in May and June 2022.

Microsoft Corp. MSFT appears to have another headwind in its $69 billion acquisition of videogame publisher Activision Blizzard Inc. ATVI in the form of an injunction from the Federal Trade Commission, according to a report Monday. U.S. shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. TSM outpaced the broader chip sector Monday following a report that increased AI-related orders from Nvidia Corp. NVDA have allowed the third-party fab to increase use of its capacity significantly.
