To see this term blurred with the top advisor definition, it makes me mad because it implies that advisors who are selected on the basis of production – and this gives me the sense that this ranking had a lot to do with precisely that – are the best financial advisors. If that’s the argument, but if you’re saying the CFP Board has a problem, it’s x, y and z, you don’t necessarily have to have a solution in order to be able to present that as a problem, I think that’s disingenuous type of argumentation, but seeing that you do kind of have a solution.
