An analyst asked the CEO of KB Home if they would lower their prices, since they increased them after lumber spiked. WEEKLY MARKET UPDATE – July 19, 2021. Markets fell this week as markets grappled with a recovery that is looking more and more uncertain. Economic data was mixed, with disappointing readings coming from consumer sentiment along with industrial production, both of which came in under expectations. Retail sales came in above expectations, as did CPI.

My second child turns two in August, which means he has one more year of free living. On his third birthday, he'll get an allowance. By his fourth birthday, he's getting a job. My goal for him and his brother is to join the FIRE community by their eleventh birthday. Alright, maybe this is a little ambitious. But I do hope to instill in my children the value of money.

Apple has a problem. They're too good at making money. Their most recent quarterly statement revealed that they are sitting on $38 billion in cash and cash equivalents. If we expand our definition of cash to include current and non-current marketable securities, think bonds, then they have $195 billion in cash. You know $195 billion is a lot of money.
