May Is Disability Insurance Awareness Month

NAIFA Trustee Barbara A. Pietrangelo, an accomplished Financial Planner and a loyal member of NAIFA since 1992, stands out as a beacon of expertise and commitment. Her career began in 1991 at the Prudential Insurance Company of America, where she has since ascended to become the Wealth Solutions Report Financial Planner of the Year as One of the Top Women Industry Leaders for 2024.

This April, as we celebrate Financial Literacy Month, we highlight Pietrangelo's contribution not just in her field but also in her role as the Chair of Life Happens, NAIFA's consumer-education arm. Life Happens plays a pivotal role in educating Americans about the importance of insurance, aligning perfectly with the mission to enhance financial literacy across the country.

Over her illustrious career, Pietrangelo has earned numerous accolades, including the prestigious 2013 Prudential Award of Merit and recognition as Financial Planner of the Year. Her influence extends beyond individual client services. Pietrangelo also holds significant leadership roles within NAIFA. Currently, she serves on the National Board of Trustees and as the Trustee Liaison for the National Grassroots Committee. These positions underscore her dedication to shaping policy and advocacy within the financial planning sector.

Pietrangelo’s story transcends financial planning; it is about championing financial literacy and empowering individuals to make informed decisions for a secure and prosperous future. As we celebrate her achievements and contributions during Financial Literacy Month, we are reminded of the critical role that education plays in our financial lives.
